Textile screen · Zip screen
Made-to-measure sun protection in semi-transparent fabric. Live glare-free, keep your view out, keep your privacy.
Fabric & application

It lets you look outside while at the same time denying curious eyes any view in.
Our quality fabric offers numerous beneficial properties: it is light, durable and highly resistant to water and frost. Its semi-transparent structure provides reliable protection from dazzling sunlight, which can be harmful both to the occupants and to furniture and houseplants.
Yet the fabric offers even more: it lets you look outside while at the same time denying curious eyes any view in. Your privacy is thus assured, and your rooms benefit from a warm, cosy atmosphere thanks to the softened light.
The textile screens also actively protect your windows from the weather. The system is very stable and withstands even strong wind, thanks to the innovative zip technology that gives the side guide the necessary flexibility. That is why textile screens are often also called zip screens.
Textile screens make sense wherever you want to protect your rooms flexibly from sunlight and the overheating it causes. For the tensioned fabric stops UV rays from hitting your window panes directly. At the same time, natural daylight is still let through.
For a long time textile screens were out of the question for complete blackout, which is why people tended to reach for roller shutters or external venetian blinds in bedrooms. This problem has meanwhile been solved by the Blackout collection made of completely opaque fabric. Textile screens can also achieve a great deal when it comes to the energy efficiency of your house.
Even very large window areas can be superbly enhanced with zip screens. Whether you are just building your own home or want to upgrade a renovation project – installation is conceivable on any property.
Box & operation

Here you have two options to choose from that differ only visually – a square aluminium box at a 90 ° angle or a model in a rounded shape. Both systems are available in the box sizes 105 mm and 125 mm and can be set into the window reveal as well as mounted directly onto the masonry. Whether the box finishes flush with the house wall or projects out is purely a matter of taste.
Both variants are both robust and light in weight and give your façade that certain something. They are also suited to accommodating element combinations. That means several screens are installed side by side in one and the same aluminium box, which can later be operated as independent individual screens.
If you prefer a façade system that disappears beneath the plaster and thus becomes completely invisible from outside, the extruded PSG-90 ° box at 125 mm size is a good choice. On request it is made with clinker or timber cladding. The system is also excellently suited to lateral shading or wind protection on terrace roofs and can be fitted with an additional insect screen.
Our Enext_RG new-build box system, on the other hand, impresses with state-of-the-art features and future-proof energy efficiency. Alongside further high-quality materials, the high-performance insulation NEOPOR® is fitted here. In this universal system, besides zip screens, Alulux roller shutters and external venetian blinds can also be installed. Installation takes place in a single work step together with the windows.
As far as the convenient operation of our textile screens is concerned, you have several options. You can open and close individual zip screens or whole groups of them, for example, at the push of a button via an electronic controller on the interior wall. It is even more comfortable with a programmable remote control. If you already have an intelligently controlled smart home, your textile screens are integrated there without any problem too.
In detail
On our Alulux textile screens the robust fabric sits on an aluminium roller which, together with the side guide rails, forms the box system. Zippers are welded to both sides of the screen and are in turn hooked into a special insert within the guide rail. This lets the textile screen run up and down outside almost silently.
This zip technology tensions the screen evenly while still granting it a certain freedom of movement. As a result it is prepared for wind speeds of up to 145 km/h and can even protect very large window areas. Unit sizes of up to 15 m² can thus be successfully shaded, which matters particularly for expansive terrace fronts.
The choice of box element depends on how your house façade is designed and whether, as the homeowner, you deliberately want to set striking accents. For new builds and renovation projects a surface-mounted element serves you equally well, over which an Alulux textile screen is very easy to fit on the outside. If your home is still in the building phase, you can also have our Enext new-build box system set beneath the plaster right from the start.
When it comes to optimal energy use in your home, too, you can achieve a great deal by installing textile screens. For they prevent the unpleasant greenhouse effect in summer. Conversely, more warmth also stays in the house when the screens are lowered in the cold season. They then prevent an unwanted loss of heat through the window panes and seals.
The nature of the fabric ensures that it is very hard-wearing, because rain and dirty water bead off its surface structure well. The zip screens thus largely clean themselves.
If, after strong weather, you would still like to help a little, this is very easy with a soft brush and clear water. The fine holes in the material also conveniently ensure quick drying.
In order to align ourselves perfectly with your particular needs, at Alulux we offer zip screens in three different fabric qualities of the Tibelly® brand, including the types Sergé, ecole 1% and Blackout.
These three fabrics each differ in their light transmission and weave structure and therefore lend themselves to very different fields of application. The wide colour choice with 60 different designs completes the offer.
